pumpkin cookies-14.jpg

FRIENDS!! nestle has mastered the cookie game. that is all. okay, kidding, there's more, but seriously! their dough is the best + i use their chocolate chip cookie recipe when i'm in the mood for a homemade chocolate fix. in the spirit of fall + all things thanksgiving, i decided to scour the internet for a pumpkin-infused chocolate chip cookie recipe -- + guess who saved the day.  n e s t l e  --  guys, they're seriously the best. not sponsored or anything, they've honestly just nailed down the cookie thing. after sharing on instagram stories that i was making them, i knew i had to share the recipe with you all when i got about 100 DMs [okay it was actually like 3 but it's fine whatever] keep scrolling for the recipe to these AH-MAZING pumpkin chocolate chip cookies! [more recipes here!] [recipe adapted from here]

DIRECTIONS for the cookies

1. gather ingredients + preeat ven to 375 degrees

2. combine flour, baking soda, + salt in a medium bowl

3. beat both sugars + the butter in a large bowl

4. add egg, pumpkin, + vanilla to the sugar-butter mix + beat until smooth

5. fold in flour mixture + chocolate chips until evenly mixed

6. bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown

INGREDIENTS for the cookies

• 2 cups all-purpose flour

• 1 teaspoon baking soda

• 1 teaspoon salt

• 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, room temperature

• 1/2 cup brown sugar

• 3/4 cup granulated sugar

• 3/4 cup Pure Pumpkin Puree

• 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

• 1 large egg

• 2 cups chocolate chips [or more #CHOC4EVER]

i'm not sure what it is about these cookies, but they're the perfect consistency -- i'm no baking expert, but my guess is the pumpkin. . .  or the fact that i couldn't find the teaspoon anywhere so i just threw in a reasonable amount of salt + baking soda + hoped for the best haha! okay but actually, these beauties are seriously the easiest to make + delicious to eat! let me know if you end up using the recipe! i know thanksgiving is tomorrow [#procrastinationnation] but they're a great option if your still looking for an easy dessert option or an alternative to pie, or a dish to bring to an after-thanksgiving friendsgiving!

happy thanksgiving friends! as always, i'm thankful for all of you reading this little blog! you're the  b e s t .  now go get your stretchy pants on + EAT! byeee!

guys!! it's about time! after i procrastinated for like a month [#college], i'm finally getting around to posting my time at the museum of ice cream! yes, it is as amazing as it looks. back in june, when i heard that the MOIC LA dates were being extended to october, i KNEW i needed one, so i hopped on the website like 10 minutes before the sale went live + waited [not so] patiently - once i got inside the site there was more waiting, but luckily i got in + was able to snag two tickets for my birthday weekend. best early b-day present, ever!

after grabbing slice of pizza, we headed across the street to the pinkest building you've ever seen. while we waited for our group to be called, we hung out and snapped some pics in the cutest patio space ever! i'm convinced you can never go wrong with a bougainvillea  + string light combo ;)

when our time finally came, we scanned our tickets + headed into the most magical 45 minutes of our lives, ha! here are some highlights from my personal favorite rooms.

head to instagram to see the cutest boomerang of us on the banana swings!

+ finally, the moment you've all been waiting for --- the sprinkle pool. just as magical as it sounds. we didn't get quite enough time in there because a huge group was just about to come right in, but we were there long enough for me to find sprinkles in my shoes, bed, + floor days later!!

so that's about it! pretty quick + very delayed [sorry!], but super fun + such a great memory. if you find yourself getting the chance to go, DO IT! it's an experience that's seriously like no other. if you can't get tickets to san francisco where they're currently located, they're planning on expanding to miami, opening a flagship experience in NYC, + possibly even a hotel in vegas! so much more exciting stuff to come.

peace, friends! happy monday :)

i can officially die happy, or at least really really content. i'd been following @thefestivecollective + their sister stores @bashpartygoods, @luft.balloon, + @anneandkate on instagram for a while, due to their location in chicago + their general awesomeness, but had never actually been to the brick + mortar store. when i saw a post about the "funky disco donut bash" they were hosting, i cleared my schedule, texted a friend, + awaited the weekend.

along with donuts + party goods, their were multiple vintage vendors + THE cutest custom embroidery station care of @daily_disco! we spent the morning browsing, making multiple purchases [yeah, that one was me], + trying not to die of a wonderment overload.

disco donut bash-4.jpg

seriously, how freakin' gorgeous are these old fashioned vanilla donuts from bonvivant cakes? i can assure you, they definitely tasted as good as they looked ;)

be sure to check out the festive collective's instagram + site --- this isn't sponsored i've just got a biz crush + i want to share! here's to pretty donuts + banana dolphins + cool stationery + balloon displays + embroidered denim + happy things.

backyard parties are my JAM. actually, any party is my jam, but especially the outdoor ones + the ones where you're the center of attention. [kidding. kind of ;) ] but seriously, gatherings that bring all the people that i love together are the best. a couple weekends ago, we hosted my high school graduation party + had the best time. press play on the film above or keep reading for a look + a recap!

my sweet + talented aunt made all of the centerpieces the day of! we had the yellow roses on hand, and she basically foraged for the rest. ;)

^^ the same photo, four years later! YIKES

we might have had a karaoke machine playing music all night and it might have been the best thing ever.

if you attended the party + are reading this, thank you SO much for coming! and if you didn't attend the party + are reading this, thanks for being interested enough to get to the end of this post! anyway, i'm off to california next fall for my next adventure - more on that soon! in the meantime, enjoy the video of the party [above if you haven't watched it already!] + also these portraits from the party, taken by my sister claire and images from our photobooth!
