A PANDEMIC IN CHICAGO | QUARANTINE 2020

a few weeks ago, my sister claire + i took a drive into the city when chicago was in the midst of the COVID-19 quarantine craziness. the weather was cold + the streets were bare creating an eeriness that filled in the emptiness of where the people should have been. i knew i wanted to document this historic shift in response to the virus — even in the cold + the uncertain, you’re still a beauty, chicago!

i’ve never seen the sidewalks so clear. every single person wore a mask [good!] + veered off towards the opposite side as we passed by, exchanging a pleasant smize that could only be understood as “hello” + “i feel your pain.”

you will forever hold my heart, chi-town. no virus, quarantine, or social distancing can take away my love for you, bb! in sickness + in health, in COVID + in freaking cold april weather.
